How To Make Your Own Signature
First you will need a program to help make you a signature, I find Adobe Photoshop Elements is handy as you can place the pixel limits in and then when finishing check its byte size also to make sure it does not go over the guidelines of EB. Also if you find you do like it, normal RRP is about $129.
To get a trial version you can download it from Adobe here Once you have downloaded the program, install running the exe and then do a restart of your system.
Open Adobe Photoshop and click ‘File’, ‘New’ and for the dimensions use the drop down box next to width and change to ‘Pixels’ and do the same with Height. In width the pixel maximum allowed on EB is 470 and the maximum height is 160. Click ‘Ok’
This will bring up a white box the same as you would see on EB. To insert an image click ‘File’, ‘Open’ and click on the photo you would like to add. This will bring it up as the original photo. Once open click the “dotted square” on the side and then click and drag it over the part you would like to add to your signature. Click ‘Edit’, ‘Copy’.
Now click on ‘file’, ‘close’ and do not save, you will now be back at your signature file. Click ‘Edit’, ‘Paste’ and the photo will show up. Now if your photo is to large for your signature I will now tell you how to adjust it.
‘Right Click’ on the image and Click ‘ Select All’, now ‘Right Click’ the image again and click ‘Free Transform’, Right click again and click ‘Scale’ .This will give you the boxes on the corners, so now you can click and drag in and out to get it just how you want. And to move it around the signature box just click and drag. If you would like to tilt right click once again and click ‘Free Rotate’. Once your happy just double click the image.
Now to add text, click ‘icon on the side with a T’ and then click where you want the writing. Along the top of the page will give you options on font and size and if you want to change colour , click the colour box on the side. Don’t worry if the text doesn’t sit right, when you done double click again and then your able to click and drag it around like your image.
Now if you want a image for your background follow the instructions for adding images, do not worry yet that it goes over your image and text and hides it. If you want a plain colour, again choose the colour box and click it, it will allow you to choose the colour you want. The click the icon ‘Paint bucket tool’ and click where you want your background.
Now if you have a image in front of your photos, such as the background has become the foreground, it is easy to fix up. Click on the image blocking everything and click ‘ layer’ and ‘Arrange’ then choose ‘Move to Back’, this will move it back and bring your images back without trouble.
Now its time to save and get it ready for the web. Once your happy with your signature, and feel free to play with different options, you will find over time you will get better with it and discover quite lot with it, click ‘File’ ‘Save For Web’.
Now it will show your signature in 2 windows, the first being the original and the second the web version. Below the web version is a size with K, this number needs to be under 30k. If yours comes over this amount you will need to change the format to Jpeg instead of GIF and see if that changes, and just play with the settings on the right side until it falls under 30k. Most of the time though you will find it is under 30k. Once your happy click ‘OK’ and save it on your computer.
However its still not on the web to be used as your EB sig, so this is where you will need to go somewhere such as ‘www.photobucket.com’ which allows free accounts to store your images. Once you have uploaded your image, you will be able to go to EB and add your signature and enjoy the fruits of your labour
