Well my 2 just love making arrowroot(sp) bikkie faces we just make up icing sugar and we originally started using lollies for the face features( eg smarties for eyes and snakes for the mouth and sprinkles for the hair or other varietys) but now use fruit pieces cut strawberrys or kiwi fruit make lovely mouths and berrys make beautiful eyes. Whatever suits you and this is so easy and makes a nice little afternoon snack.
Hope that makes sense this baby brain is affecting me worse today the ever. |

Make a Necklace
Empty thread spools that are painted different colors can make a safe necklace for younger children. They can even help you make the necklace. Take the spools and string them together with a soft string or shoe lace. The younger children will enjoy helping you do this. Colored Sand Art Take dry sand from the sand box and put a handful into several small containers. Add some food coloring into each container and mix together until the sand is colored. Give the children some paper and glue. Have them make patterns with the glue to make a design. When they are finished, let them sprinkle the glue with the coloured sand |

1. (Once bananas get cheaper!!). have child use a plastic knife to slice banana if they are old enough. then crush a plain biscuit or 2 into a ziplock bag and "crumb" the banana slices.
2. play with ice cubes outside - either in the paddling pool or just in the yard. Can add food colouring to them when you make them. 3. Act out your favourite stories or songs using toys/dolls. We do "10 in the bed" "bears in the night" and "3 little pigs" mainly. 4. havent tried this yet but it was in my playgroup newsletter. Cut cardboard into circle - this is the pizza. then decorate with coloured paper cut to be the topping eg pineapple, capsicum etc. Can mix red colouring into the glue to be tomato paste. Helen |

I buy sheets of cheap stickers..especially the coloured dots. DS loves to stick them all over himself and me and we also make pictures out of them on cardboard. It's great for learning colours.

Kylie Oh yes, and on one of the Wiggles videos they make paintings using medicine droppers and really runny paint. Have been collecting my medicine droppers but haven't given it a try yet. Kylie |

TaddyJ - thanks so much - you've brought back a wonderful memory of my childhood when we did exactly what you said!
Ratio for "Goop": 1 packet of cornflour to one cup of water. If you have more than one child I would make at least 5 cups and put in a large trough. definitely another outside activity. Soap Slime: 1 cup soapflakes, 2 litres of warm water, whisk with egg beaters. |
