Hi all. I am TTC#2 and am looking into options for a family birth centre as DS was born in Traralgon so I am not familar with hospitals here. I have done a tour of both Angliss and Monash and both have their good and bad points and I have heard good about both. Just wanted to get views on the two and anyones experiences. I am leaning more towards Angliss atm though it is further away as I live in Wheelers Hill. They seem to cater more if you have another child there a lot. They have a play area and a kitchenette and the FBC part is closed off from other rooms but Monash is not it's just rooms on the ward set up a little different. I am also really keen on a water birth and Angliss has a spa in each of the rooms in FBC but Monash has 1 bath between the FBC and the maternity unit so it is first in. Traralgon is a very rural hospital and Angliss has that feel about it which I like. Though I have met a few of the midwives at Monash and they are lovely. Also Angliss are more leniant with you staying more then the 24hrs if you are not comfortable and they have single rooms (if not busy) they can transfer you to but Monash if it had to be more then 24hrs you go straight into a 3 person room. Any thoughts? Thanks.
