Grave robbery? That's new. Interesting
I would love to have a pair of boots for winter but the more I look the more I think that boots are made for very skinny legs only.

Does anyone know where I should be looking? Should I just do a mall run and go into every single shoe shop and be discouraged 9/10 and realise that I have very fat calves (which I don't think I do) and hope that I hit the jackpot and find a pair?

Cheers,
Karen

Hey there spunky chicken bum!
Hi!
Just wanted to say i had the opposite problem to you, i looked forever for a pair that would sit nicely (and not flap around) my skinny frog legs original.gif
In the end, i just bought a pair and spent 50 bucks geting them sewn in.
However, thats not going to help you...lol, but i really feel for you, it's hard to find something that fits properly, and i hope sombody turns up in here with a solution so you can have those boots original.gif

a rolled sweatshirt makes the window soft
i haven't shopped for boots for years blush.gif clearly my calves are too chunky for such a look ohmy.gif but this year, i was determined... and found a pair in 'betts' that do up! yes, they do up, all the way to the top! biggrin.gif i did chat to the sales girl initially, asking if a wider range was available. she said yes, they do stock a few pairs in black, so worth a look? i wanted brown, & the first pair i tried on actually fit - i was shocked, and even the sales girl got caught up in my excitement, lol! so do persist, okay?!

oh, and i've also heard about getting a boot maker to alter the boots, adding a splice of elastic (like a dart, yeah?) to ensure a neat fit. no idea of costings.

I had heaps of trouble a couple of years ago but just kept looking. I ended up finding a pair that had a small bit of elsatic in the side like the PP mentioned. It took ages to find them though!

I mentioned this in another thread the other day, that you can take the boots to a bootmaker and get and insert sewn into the boot.

It's not elastic, its leather designed to match the boot so you cant see the difference.

Good luck

4.1kg gone in 2 weeks!
I don't have to worry about them doing up, cause 9/10 my size 12 foot won't even get IN the boot! mad.gif

Cool bananas. Thanks everyone. My plan is to hit Westfield next weekend minus the kids and go to every single shoe store. And if that fails find a bootmaker lol.

Cheers,
Karen

Yes I have this problem too and my sister does because she has large calf muscles (mine is just extra fat).

Anyway, last year Myers had some fake suede boots that were nearly up to your knees on sale - 50% off!!!

I tried them on and they fitted. I was so excited. I rang my sister and she went and got a pair too.

Would love to have leather but they were a very good second. Especially for a size 18-20 girl who has never had knee length boots in her life before.

Good luck.
