Our preschool has just put together baskets of Easter eggs to raffle off and I cringe at the thought of winning one because there's so much chocolate in them!

Our children - 2 and 4 - only receive one egg/bilby each from us and we 'manage' (ie. throw most out) the chocolate that they get from other family members. For the most part, I'm comfortable with doing this, but have nanosecond moments when I think we're a little too strict given it's only once a year!

What do others do?

blah blah blah
I have so far only got my 2 girls a barbie mug with an egg.
I usually but a crate of 12 eggs and split them between the three kids (but keep some for me tongue.gif ) a few small eggs and a character egg such as the Humpty Dumpty egg.
Last year my son was only a few months old and he got a stuffed rabbit and one chocolate.

I have just brought DD#1 a Dora easter egg (comes with bowl and cup) will also get the 20 pack of cadbury eggs which will be hiden around the house for them to find biggrin.gif
I wont be throwing any out...it is only once a year and they can have something like a little egg a day or something like an egg a week. They will soon get sick of chocolate lol

Do you mind?
My daughter (4) is getting a My Little Pony breakfast set (mug, bowl and spoon) and it has 1 easter egg...My son (3) is getting the same thing, but in the Simpsons...lol

From family they get new pyjama's and we "control" how much more of the chocolate they get...it usually goes through me as their "quality control advisor" blush.gif ...well, I can't have them eating dodgy chocolate - have to make sure the stuff is okay.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm chocolate.............

my kids get nothing for easter. DD cant eat chocolate (not even carob) so we are giving it a miss like we did last year. I dont believe in giving other things as presents tho I know people who do so we are just not participating.

I'm stronger everyday
DS has 3 set of Grandparents so he usually gets pj's, slippers and a dressing gown as per my request. From the rest of the family he gets easter eggs.

From the 'Easter Bunny' this year he will be getting easter eggs and pj's.

I solemly swear that I am up to no good
For DS, I'll probaby get him a couple of small eggs and a book. I remember seeing a book out a few years ago called Bilbys first Easter, where the easter bunny was sick so the bilby took over for the Australian run. But do you think I can find the jolly thing?!? mad.gif

For the nephews and nieces, I'll probably get the my little pony set etc or a shirt each or something. I'll figure something out! lol.

Actually, maybe I'll get him the activity table I've been ogling in K-mart! lol. We'll be camping at the time, so it will keep him amused original.gif
