Any fashion-lovers out there I need your help!
I don't get to the shops much any more so I'm a bit out of step with what is coming in to fashion this winter in terms of general clothing and accessories. Can anyone point me in the right direction with some ideas please? Including fabrics, colours etc. I am a petite brunette, early 40's. Thanks in advance and looking forward to your contributions

I find looking at sites like birdsnest good as they style entire outfits for you so you can see how things go together and refine it by body shape etc
|

doesn't get cold enough in oz..I absolutely love all the new style beanies and thick coats, knitted scarves and gloves and mittens but it never gets cold enough here..if we could accessorise, winter fashion would be so much more interesting. I see jackets being worn as a cape i.e not putting you arms through the sleeves becoming a big trend but it would just be weird for me..jacket might even fall off. |

You are living in the wrong part Sal78! I love Winter because I know I can start throwing on my scarves and digging my lovely coats from the back of the wardrobe! OP - I have no idea about fashion.. but this Winter I'll be all A line skirts - because I got some wonderful new boots and I am going to be giving them a righteous flogging! |

I went shopping wi a few friends yesterday and we were very impressed with the fashions.
Some nice structured and patterndresses that you wear with the ankle boots. Loose tops cut with the lower bum that you then wear with skinny jeans amd boots. The boots aren't as long this year. Lots of ankle ones and cowboy type boots. Colour wise there did seem to be quite a lot of autumn colours but also bright orange, watermelon, greys. Lots of sleeveless puffer vests in cool colours. Silky type tops in dark colours. I found a gorgeous one in Zara in a bright scarlet red. Second the suggestion on birdsnest to look at their styling. Very helpful. We all liked the clothes in Esprit, trendy but not too ott for our age group. Prices are good. I got a fleece type grey jacket but I could have bought heaps more in there. |
