I'm totally getting ahead of myself but so I can get a little excited about all of this I've been thinking about names. I'm convinced this bub is a girl (I'm only 6 weeks pregnant and still very up in the air about how I feel about it)

I'm loving the name Maisie with middle name Ava.

Well I'm mostly just in love with Maisie and thought Ava went with it nicely.

What do you think? Or similar type names.

All the meanings I've seen say, precious, wished for child and child of the light. And of course being a Dr Seuss character so it is very cool to me.

I like Maisie but I don't think Ava is a good fit with it.

I actually disagree with you on the flow of Maisie Ava. Two two-syllable names with the first syllable consisting mostly of a long ayyyyyy sound really jars with me. If you're using Ava solely for the sound and not a family reason or because you love it, I'd find something else.

Even Maisie Eva or Maisie Eve improves the flow - but doubles up on the eee sound at the start and end so it's not perfect either.

I personally would move away from a MN starting with a vowel - although an O sound eg Maisie Olivia may be okay.

Maisie is NMS but if you love it, and your DH / DP / significant other (if any) agrees, go for it!

Yeah I'm not completely sold on Ava either. My partner likes A names so that was my attempt to involve his opinion in the naming process hehe

Sorry but I think Maisie is just too much of an old lady name. I just can't picture it as a name for a child, teenager or young adult, or anyone under eighty really.
