DS, who is 6 months old, is currently breast fed. I have chosen to stop breastfeeding as I have suffered mastitis 3 times in 2 1/2 months and have had enough!

I'm really not sure what formula to switch him over to. He is being treated for reflux with meds, so should I be looking at the reflux formulas? I am soooo confused!!

Anyone used Bellamy's Organic?

If he is being treated for reflux could you seek advice from a health professional because that is a medical condition that requires consideration in chosing a formula, that's what I'd do.
Could you call your chn and/or GP or Paed so you can overcome your confusion?, you'll be fine once you sort this out.
Sorry to hear you have had recurrent mastitis, how horrid, good luck with weaning, come into the Bfing forum if you would like some support with weaning.
All the best.

DS is a reflux baby. We started off using nan, until the formula change. The only other formula he would tolerate is bellamy's (which we still use). It's great, and doesn't have a foul taste like most formulas. The only complaint I have is that it is frothy, but DS doesn't seem to care.

we used Nan HA and thicken DS's formula with a karicare thickener to help with his reflux...best to check with your GP or something so they can keep an eye on him having reflux and all.

We used Novalac Reflux until the vomiting settled a bit, and now we use Karicare Aptamil Gold which I am quite happy with (we are now using the toddler milk version). My pharmacist suggested the Novalac, by my MCHN wasn't thrilled with it and seemed to prefer Nan, s26 or Karicare for whatever reason. On reflection, I would have used the Karicare AR because it's available at supermarkets, but I was hesitant to change brands again.

Have a chat with the GP or whoever is managing the reflux, for their opinion on whether a reflux formula would help.

I would recommend the Karicare Aptamil as a good brand. It dissolves easily, is pleasant smelling, has a little scraping bit at the side of the tin to make leveling the formula easy, I'm quite happy with the nutrition and they have a support line for formula feeding questions. Also it is widely available which is something to consider.

DD also has reflux and is on meds, we had her on Bellamy's but it didn't agree with her so we put her on the Karicare AR formula (ok'd by our GP). She has done wonderfully on it, just make sure you use fast flow teats. Have also heard good things about the Karicare thickener

We just added Karicare thickener to our std formula (Nan HA). That allowed us to adjust thickness as needed. We did not like the Karicare HA AR formula.

I used nan ha for my reflux babies. Worked ok until I eventually switched to a prescription formula as they ended up with cmp intolerance.
Baby number three is on nan ha. No issues yet.
Try to avoid switching and give a formula a good go
