via a card in your letterbox for a letter that has been sent to you without enough postage on it would you bother picking it up especially when you aren't expecting anything important?

It would depend on who it was from, and how much the extra was.

It's only $2.70 or something but for me it's the fact that I will have to take time off work to get it. There is no indication of who it is from.

Give me my coffee and no one gets hurt!!!
That's the biggest waste of resources I've heard of in a while. Though you are talking about Aust Post.

What's the extra postage cost? 40cents? So they've paid someone to write out the card, then mail/deliver it to you, then they will need someone to process the payment and then find the article at the post office for you.

Ridiculous.

Nope. Not if I wasn't expecting anything, it wasn't a birthday or other significant event.

Learnt that the hard way back in UK. Had a card through the letterbox saying 'inadequate postage' so went along paid however much it was and found it was some unasked for junk mail.

I did once and wish I hadn't.

I paid $6.xx to pick something up I wasn't expecting, figuring it was the right thing to do. It was a freaking cat toy that wasn't even worth $2, and to this date I still have no idea who sent me the freaking thing!

I would, I am too nosy to not know what it was. I'd not be impressed if it was something stupid though!
