[/size]Sorry if this has already been done but I couldn’t find anythreads.



DD started at childcare early January, I filled out theforms for child care benefit and the rebate, asking for fortnightly payments. I received a letter saying that we qualified from 5 January.



In February the benefit was applied to our fees (but not backdated for January), but therehas been no sign of the rebate. When I asked child care they said there isquite often a delay but they usually come through together, I can’t sit on holdall day so I haven’t called the family assistance office as yet.



Has this happened to anyone else?

Do I just sit and wait and it will all be reconciled or do Ineed to take the day off to go and see them?

I have never had any issues. The rebate is normally done the same time each quarter. The last payment I received was 22nd Jan. My next payment comes through around April, same date usually, give or take a few days.

You will more than likely get your payment in April as you signed up in Jan.

1st October - 31st December is the period I was paid for in Jan

You will fall into the next quarter as she started in Jan

So have you applied for CCR to go straight to the daycare or to you? If straight to daycare (ie. to come directly off your out of pocket fees after CCB has been applied) then usually yes, it comes through at the same time. When they enroll your child, put in your families CRN #'s etc and submit to CCMS, it shows the centre if CCR is being paid to them or to you. If its supposed to go to them, get them to check that it says that. Otherwise, sounds like there has been a glitch with it going directly to you. Worth a call for sure.

How did you set up the CCR to be paid it can be paid annually, quarterly or fortnightly and can only be changed at the change of financial year - you should be able to log into centrelink and see how you've set it up.

For fortnightly payments the childcare centre should be submitting your usage most likely weekly (this is what mine does, anyway) and you should be getting the rebate payments fortnightly as you would expect if this is the frequency you nominated. Double-check with your centre that your usage is going through as it is possible that you can get the over-the-counter benefit but not the rebate, it happened to me earlier this year when DS1's preschool had an issue with their system.

We pay our fees in full and the CCR rebate is paid directly to us. All we had to do was provide the CRN number to the childcare centre and apply online to centrelink. We received our first CCR payment within 2 weeks of starting childcare (I had completed all of the centrelink forms a month ahead of the start date). We are paid fortnightly. I think we get paid fortnightly up to a certain amount (around 75%) and then the remainder is held back and paid to us at the end of the financial year. I still don't quite understand this bit. No problem at all. We don't qualify for CCB.

I would give them a call.

I still don't quite understand this bit. No problem at all. We don't qualify for CCB.

I think this is so that for families providing an income estimate for CCB purposes, it covers anything they may owe due to income underestimation when reconciled at the end of the financial year.

sorry I meant to imply that they may not have it that way in the system and she can check online without phoning
