Hi all,

I just want some advice. It would appear that this is the second time this year I've had a chemical pregnancy. The first right at the start of January, had a few faint BFPs on FRER and 2 other brands, then had AF rock up about a week late. Blood tests showed I wasn't pregnant despite having a few different brands of tests.

Now 2 cycles later, I've had a 3 very faint BFPs on FRER on CD19 and 20, all other tests negative, which seemed really unusual for so early in the cycle. Then AF came today on CD22. I'm so confused. How likely is it to have false positives or dodgey FRER tests?

I think I'm more upset because I dont really know if I was ever pregnant or if it's just something weird going on and I seem to produce faint positives when I shouldn't be.

We haven't really been TTC but aren't being safe, we will be happen when/if it happens, but as a lot of you will know, it's so hard emotionally dealing with stuff like this over and over

I don't think it is likely that all of those tests were false positives. From what I understand false positives are very rare. Sorry, I don't have much to offer. I have never knowingly had a chemical pregnancy but then again I gave up on testing early a long time ago.

At this point I don't think you should be worried. After all, doctors tend not to be concerned about two miscarriages in a row and I am not sure if chemical pregnancies even fall into the category. Maybe keep a note of what has happened in case you find you do have problems holding onto a pregnancy in the future.
