HI,

Ive been recently diagnosed with PCOS and wondering if anyone out there has successfully fallen pregnant , and how long it took you?

Ive had irregular and long cycles since I first started menstruating. Ive tracked them for the past 2 years and they have ranged from 16 days to over 100, no pattern whatsoever.

I don't have many of the symptoms of PCOS - an ultrasound showed multiple follicles and so with the irregular cycles, and some acne the Dr said its PCOS.

I'd like some hope that I can conceive naturally and sooner than trying for over a year or more!

There are a couple of ladies on here that have PCOS plus other 'issues' also and are pregnant.

Many women with PCOS fall pregnant, its a matter of tracking your cycles and finding a pattern.
I have PCOS and endometriosis and am currently TTC so I know your pain. It can be a long stressful process and if you stress yourself out before you have even started TTC it wont help matters.

Good Luck original.gif

I have PCOS and while I am not currently pregnant I do have a 3yr old daughter.
I fell pregnant after 2 years of trying. I was just about to give up and seek fertility treatments when it happened naturally.
Have you spoken to your doctor? Have you looked into Clomid?
I had no pattern with my cycles either.
Sorry not much help but it is possible
Good Luck

Have PCOS. Took 9 months to try for DD. I had to change my diet a bit. Less fatty food, more fruit n vegs and water. Exercise as well. Think that ( for me that is) helped with concieving DD. Mentally it wasn't easy. Especially knowing my chances were lower than one without PCOS. But I was fortunate enough to get DD original.gif

Best of luck on your journey OP!

I have PCOS. I came off the pill and had a 120 day cycle, then had a 49 day cycle with a BFP to get my DS. I was seeing a naturopath, doing yoga and eating well too.

Hi OP
First off want to say that it can be quite stressful ttc when you have pcos and no regularity in your cycles.
I too have PCOS - came off the pill and had very irregular cycles (up to 110 days), tried to track cycles for a bit and gave it some time. Meanwhile I made sure I ate well and exercised. After 12 months without any luck we bit the bullet and made an appt to see a fs. The next available appt was 6 months away!! We managed to conceive twice however miscarried then fell pregnant with my little darling who is now 4 months old. We did not end up seeing the fs.
I think for me it was luck. Also the the three preg were in succession. First miscarriage at 8 weeks in October, second miscarriage at 6 weeks in December then conceived again in January. I have no science to substantiate this but feel that once my body actually got pregnant it sort if 'remembered' what to do and ovulated regularly after that.
Hope this helps and please seek medical advice if this is worrying you.
Good luck :-)

Questionable1

I came off the pill in May2012, and have had 42,47,52 day cycle I saw my doctor who reccommended I see a gynae specialising in PCOS, I am on my 7th cycle (although that has taken 10months due to longer than normal cycles!) I have a couple of OI (ovulation induction cycles with Femara) I have ovulated but no luck so far. You sound similar to me lean PCOS, meaning I dont have typical symptoms (weight, acne, excessive hair ect) my symptoms are just like yours irregular cycles & cysts on the ovaries (but only 1 ovary.....). I started temping & that has help track my cycles, but only now after a few months of temps can I start to see patterns, so give yourself time when temping

I started seeing a naturopath & having accupuncture in December 2012 & that has help improve my cycles to my first ever 30 day cycle last month! We didnt get our BFP, but I know it is not far away. It is great to read that others have had success TTC with PCOS, your stories give me hope every day.

GOOD LUCK original.gif

first took 15 months. Was about to start taking clomid when I fell pregnant naturally

Second, took 12 months. 6 months of clomid did not work, was about to start ivf then fell pregnant naturally.

3rd was unplanned. I had lost about 5kg and was down to a BMI of 22 before falling pregnant naturally, dont know if that helped in anyway at all.

DP was diagnosed in her 20s and advised to start TTC around 30 in case interventions were needed.

She left it until 32, and fell pregnant with DP9 on her second cycle and DP5 on her first, so interventions weren't needed original.gif
