Opinions please? I appreciate honesty. The boy most likely won't have red hair!
Is it still a legit name?
Not sure of nn Rus tho!
Cheers again!

I'm not keen on it.

It reminds me of the Chevy Chase 'Vacation' movies, or something to name a Kelpie.

It's a nickname - a very sweet nickname, but not a full name for an adult human.

My nephew's name is Rusty, he's 15 and rocks his name. He doesn't have red hair or American parents, his parents just liked the name. I wasn't a fan of the name when he was born but it's grown on me over the years and I can't imagine him being named anything else now.

What about just using it as a nickname? Sorry, but it seems too animalish to me.

You pay for this, but they give you that
Fine as a NN, but otherwise should be reserved for a red cattle dog or similar.

Sorry.
