DS is 2 and I want to keep him rear facing as long as possible. He's only 11 kilos, and is still able to rear face in his old SnS Compaq.

I just bought him a NEW Compaq, mainly because I believe it's a safer seat than the old one when forward-facing, but also because I thought it was supposed to have high rear facing markers so he could rear-face for longer. (Meanwhile, new bub due soon can have the old seat.)

However, his shoulders are up to the rear facing height markers. The seat installer told be he won't install it RF, but the manual is very unclear - it says "must be used RF until the child's shoulders reach the lower markers" but doesn't say specifically if they must forward-face after then, or if keeping them RF is an option.

I've emailed SnS but don't expect and answer until Monday at the earliest.

Has anyone previously asked this question of the manufacturer? Can I keep him RF until he hits the 12kg limit or are the height markers the absolute upper limit?

How tall is your DS and does he have long torso? My 95cm 3yo is only just on the line for turn FF.

RF in old Compaq he needs to have 2.5cm of hard shell above his head and his shoulders are not able to be above shoulder slots.

Thanks IsolaBella. He's only 90cm so I thought he should be fine.

I've adjusted the straps to his shoulder height, which has actually pulled the cover up slightly. Since the height markers are on the cover, they've also moved up and now his shoulders are underneath the markers.

Only problem now is the cover doesn't seem to expand with the seat as the straps move up, so now the little padded headrest part won't lie flat.

Am I the only one who seems to be struggling with this seat?

Is there Velcro holding the covers together lower down catching? I don't have issues with my seat.
