In general life I am not one of those super optimistic sunshine and lollypops type people. I'm just not. I am not super bitter and cynical either but I like to think I have a sensible outlook.

Except when it comes to TTC. Then I am painfully hopeful each month, only to crash each month.

The stupid thing is I know I am average, at best, when it comes to getting pregnant. Not to mention my 50% hit rate when it comes to holding onto the babies. But month after month I am convinced that "this is it!" Even if I am crippled with premenstrual symptoms. Even if I have stared bleeding! Even if we didn't have sex around my fertile days. There is always this stupid hope that they are EPS and implantation bleeding or that it was one of those mythical super magical sperm that hangs around for five days waiting for Mrs Egg.

I have been pregnant four times now and I know what it feels like. I know how my body reacts. I should know when I am not pregnant no matter how many times I google EPS and read how similar they can be to preperiod symptoms and get all hopeful.

Sometimes my brain is just too stupid.

I am exactly the same! I have a 20% success rate at keeping babies and about a 5% success rate if you include all the months we were TTC - so, um, not great. But every single month I truly believed it was "It" even when all signs indicated it wasn't; and even when I got a BFN at 12DPO, I thought it would show up the next morning. I really believed it every single month. Then when it hit me that I was 'out' I'd be so bitter for a week or so, then I'd get all hopeful and excited again.

Looking forward to trying for another one... (not so much).

I'm sure we're not the only ones. Hope is what gets you through when you have a struggle.

Me too. I keep thinking this is it even 2,3 or 4 days into AF. My trouble is that with both my pregnancies I had 3-4 days of light AF and only after it stopped early did I think that maybe this is it and went to do a test.
I'm now up to month 30 of TTC with only 1 pregnancy which ended in a miscarriage. The stats are terrible for me.

I know EXACTLY what you mean.

I'm only new to ttc (we started around 4 weeks back) and already reading into things, hoping that something may be a sign. I really don't know how people can cope when it happens every single month.

I have PCOS so don't know when I ovulate or will have AF greet me. That doesn't really help because I can't really rely on AF showing up to confirm Im not pregnant. Then I go read about people who still get bleeding and could possibly be pregnant, or people who are pregnant but tests still come back negative. WHy can't things just be simple and straight forward!!
