Hi crafty geniuses!
So my baby girl scored this valentines day.. A beautiful single pink rose from her dad. It was very sweet.. But I don't think she'll remember lol, so I'd like to 'keep it' for her somehow. I think it's too late for me to 'press' the rose, but is there anything I can do to save the petals.. Particularly the colour. Thanks in advance! |

i often get 2 wax paper sheets put waxed sides together with petals btween them then use iron on low heat to press together - USE PILLOWCASE betwwen iron and paper
Then you have nice paper with the petals in it - i have done this as scrapbooking page with the first flower my husband gave me i just cut the paper before doign the ironing part to the size i want so i could space the petals nicely |

Thanks for that Tobias'smum! Wax paper added to our shopping list :-)
How do you space the rose petals? .. Do you take each petal and scatter it across the paper, or did you do it in columns and then press with the iron? |

I've done as Tobias' Mum has done too.. I'm a scatterer!
Just make sure they aren't up too close to the edge of the sheet so that they get completely sealed in. For anyone else reading this it makes for a very cheap, very pretty way to 'frost' a window too (I had one that looked out onto next door's brick wall and the step where they put their garbage bins!) |
