Just curious..

Was talking to friends the other day about the local brothel. They mention they knew a guy who frequented this place and he was charged $150 for sex.

I for some reason though it would be more..

So WDYT is the going rate? or if you know the going rate around what is it?

Ps not having a dig at anyone or their situation. Just curious

I charge $50,000. Nah, I have no idea. But that does seem very little for such a big thing.

I watched a documentary on prostitutes, it was in the USA though so possibly not the same but similar here you'd think.

It varied depending on where you worked. The high class places were very expensive I don't remember exactly though & then went down to a street worker who performed fellatio for $20 however, she told the men not o hold back as she needed to see others that night, she also stated that not having a full set if teeth made her job easier unsure.gif

I can't recall what it was called but I think it was on the SBS only a few months ago. It was very interesting and sad as some had some terrible stores of their work and how they came to be prostitutes.

I like cats, but I couldn't eat a whole one.
I think would depend on the establishment. $150 for sex could be $600 an hour in some places.

An ex and I accidentally walked into a brothel in West Hollywood (thought it was a strip club!) and we were told it was $50 for the room and the girls worked on tips huh.gif We thanked them and left. That was in 2001.

I'm guessing about $20 a customer and the rest goes to establishment. For others who aren't so lucky, it all goes towards their 'debt'.

A friend worked as a call girl for a year in a legal brothel and the rate was $210 per hour. She got $130 and they took the rest. There were extra costs if the client wanted something different ie anal sex only was $300p/hr, two girls was $450 etc.

They also had strict conditions. Every worker had to have monthly STD checks, condoms were compulsory at all times, panic buttons in every room, showers before and after every client. Clothes and food were provided while working.

She made enough to pay for her degree and is now quite high up the chain in her chosen field.

Very similar to what BW said.

In most legal brothels in Victoria, female sex workers get about 80% of the fee charged. This fee, of course, varies between establishments and depending on how much time they are booked for. It's different for male and transgender sex workers. Any additional services such as kissing, anal sex, roleplaying, etc are charged extra and the worker negotiates this extra in the room and receives all of that fee. Of course private escorts charge differently, and they get the entire amount of the fee charged. Street based sex work is a completely different situation, of course, as in Victoria it is illegal.

There's an interesting link here that outlines average wages as well as some other interesting information about the sex industry.
