Hi,
I am 34+3 days pregnant with twins. I have 3 other kids ( 2 in full time school, 1 part time pre school). A Dp that can't take time off work as we are saving leave for when the boys arrive. My house is a huge pig sty. Behind on washing and not even playing catch up yet. The level of tiredness is massive. And well poor kids haven't really eaten all that well for the last week or so. Pasta with tuna and veg mixed in. Eggs on toast, bake beans that kind of stuff. So my question is. How to survive these last few weeks, yet still get things done? Is it even possible? We will be looking into a cleaner but not til late next month. And kids and dp do help. I just feel so lazy I can't even keep a house tidy and clean This post has been edited by Shhhh: 22/02/2013, 01:47 PM |

Forget about the house, the mess will still be there when you are feeling more up to it, I was on bed rest through quite a bit of my twin pregnancy so my poor house was pretty much forgotten about. Do you have anyone that can come by and help out? Also maybe have your DH cook a couple of BIG meals that can then be split up and frozen, this will mean all you have to do is microwave it and serve (spag, shepards pie, pasta bakes that sort of thing, they don't take long to put together and will keep you well fed).

Relax and be kind to yourself as you are still "baking" those twins!! They are growing big time now to put on as much weight as possible so they will be sucking you bone dry. Keep up your fluids, milk and nutrition as you all need it.
Maybe look at getting the cleaner in earlier if you can afford to. As PP said make some big batches of meals and freeze them into portions. Lay in stocks and maybe look at online ordering and home delivery, no need to trundle down the grocery aisles. Spend some time with your kids and DH as it is soon to get very busy there..... GL and hope you have a safe delivery. |

I agree, the kids have eaten, your house isnt being overrun by rats, I'd say your still doing great! In these last weeks its bl0ody hard getting out of bed let alone cleaning a house, be a little more kind to yourself, do what you can but try not to stress out about it.
Good luck |

Agree - sound like you are doing an awesome job! Forget about the cleanliness of the house (if you can get a cleaner in earlier that would be great). Most important thing to focus on is looking after yourself and your two growing bubbies - all three of you need all the rest you can get. Are there friends or family you can rope in to help with the other kids??

yes I agree with everyone else, growing two babies is exhausting, I could barely walk!
Instead of presents etc, can you ask your friends to pitch in making some meals for the freezer or taking one of your children for a playdate so you can rest? Thinking of you and good luck for the upcoming birth of your twins |

All the best for the birth of your twins. I found the last few weeks really tough both physically and mentally (got to 37 plus 2 and begged for an induction). Try rest where possible. Don't worry about the house or food. As long as they aren't eating maccas every night, they will survive. Are you able to get family or friends to cook for you or come clean once a week. If people offer help say "yes please" and tell them what you need. Good luck!
