Fembo, not tart.
The wind had been howling madly for the last 2 days. It's been raining qute badly too, but Im mainly concerned about the wind. SES reports 52 roofs blown off on the Mid North Coast so far. The Commonwealth Bank in Ballina lost its roof, a parking garage lost part of its roof and landed on a neighbouring garage and is a dangerous to houses in the direct vicinity, the local community service (DoCS) has had the roof blown off for a second time in 2 months. That happens to be a brand new building too.

I errrr "poo'd" bricks when the wind got hold off me and my little car and made me skid off the road. Luckily there were not ditches just mud and gravel on the side. Luckily DS wasn't with me. I still have to go out and pick him up from daycare soon and after my skidding incident, I am really not keen to get back onto the road in thee conditions sad.gif

Anyone else stuck in this horrendous weather? If you are, please stay safe and don't go out if you don't have to.....

You pay for this, but they give you that
Right in the thick of it too. Got to get the boys from school soon.... not looking forward to it.

Very scary out there especially with the roads still soft from the floods.

Stay safe!

Light went off for a few minutes and just got a call from daycare asking me to pick up DS. They're calling all parents to come pick up the kids as they will be closing the road soon.
Most schools have already closed before lunch time.

You must live near me wink.gif

We have just spent the day weathering a "east coast low" (code for cat 1 cyclone). Not fun, I assure you original.gif

We are cut off by flood waters again, DS14 caught the school bus in this morning and couldn't get home again, he's happy enough to stay in town with a friend and DD7 went to school for an hour or so before I got the call they were evacuating any bus travellers so we have been cosy inside out of harms way for most of the day. Howling winds and lots of rain but no damage.

We used to stay at home but now we have a social life ..
Well after a horrible couple of days with the ol' East Coast Low, the sun is shining this morning.

Lots of trees fallen and local roads closed due to trees and flooding.

It sounds quite scary! A friend in Nimbin was cut off for a couple of days due to flooding.

Apparently more huge rain is coming down through the coast of Queensland early next week. Up to 300mm with potential for flooding yet again.

Finally got power again. Lost power on Friday evening at 6.30 ish. Just got reconnected this morning.
Tree had smashed a transformer box. My frozen foods all deforsted and no way can i cook it all up now. So have thrown out about 200 bucks worth of meat, veggies, bread, etc (roasts, steaks on special, etc).
Not happy sad.gif Also I didn't want to open the fridge and freezer all this time so we had to have breadrolls and chocolate milk at the shops for breaky and lunch 2 days in a row. Bread for dinner for 2 nights. Sick of bread now lol. I also ran out of battery power on my mobile, so took him to an indoor playground yesterday morning and they charged the phone for me.
I think it's now time for coffee!!!!!! Hehehe.

Although I felt so sorry for DS. The power went off during his favourite movie "the Lorax". He didn't understand why it wasn't working anymore. Tried light switches all evening. He even got angry with me thinking I turned it off on purpose sad.gif

We did have some great time reading books in my bed with the flashlights on.
