Hi,
Dh and I are thinking of having a break down to snow for my 30th this winter and we'll be child free. I'ii be 7ish months pregnant so no skiing but were after a pretty mountain location but not necessarily in the ski resorts. Just somewhere we can enjoy mountain scenery and nature. We're coming from Sydney so somewhere on northerly side of the snowies..... I've had a look at tumult which might be nice...but don't know how much to do there. Can anyone recommend anywhere.........
Or rec any b&bs or lodges with fireplaces...this is first time to such cold area for both of us.
original.gif thanks in advance.

Lake Crackenback is very nice . Not on snow but close enough to ski tube and Thredbo that you can still visit. Can't remember if there are fireplaces but the cabins over the water are lovely.

I second Lake Crackenback! Love love love that place! They have a range of cabins including one, two and three bedroom units, some with fireplaces. They are a nice drive away from Perisher as well. The resort has a lot to offer including a restaurant, walking trails, day spa etc

I asked my friend which guesthouses she works at:)

There's Batlow House and Jessie Sawyer Mountain Cottage

The former is closer to town and is more expensive, the latter is higher on the mountain, so has an amazing view! It's also cheaper. Both have fireplaces

Great, I think i saw the Jessie sawyer one listed on wot if, i'ii check out the prices! Thanks heaps for checking that out. Appreciate it original.gif.

Hi OP, I live in Batlow which is near Tumut:) I haven't lived here long, so don't know heaps about the area yet. Tumut is beautiful, though. I'm not sure how much there is to do, but if you're pregnant, that might not be a bad thing:) I think Batlow and Tumut has guest house type accommodation? I would also imagine (but don't know for sure) that most places like that would probably have a fire.

Most homes have fireplaces, even our local bakery does biggrin.gif

Hey Rawr. Nice to hear of another 'Batlow-ite'. I have been living here for several years. Nice little place.
