DS sat an exam several weeks ago, at his school of choice. We only applied for one school, he's already been accepted to start next year regardless of the scholarship.
Has anyone any experience in the process from now? Do schools score all the results then interview? Do they engage the primary school, or families at all? Approximately how long until offers are known? Do you find out how your child has performed? Any advice appreciated, I'm a little cluèless about it all. |

Usually on the application form it will tell you when you will be notified. It can take a month to be notified but generally if you are accepted then you find out within a couple of weeks. At least that has been our experience.
Good Luck |

Thanks, judging by the look on DS' face when he exited the exam, I won't hold my breath at any rate, lol

How did she find it, coffy11? DS complained it was "sooooo boring", he guessed "half of the maths", but that the rest was OK. He found the break to be the most interesting part - he made himself a coffee "so he could focus and stay awake in the second half" !!

Compared to EDUtests, ACER tests are a lot harder in general. You usually get a rating comparing your kids performance to all other kids sitting same test. And the school will let you know if he got a scholarship or not...very competitive BTW! Usually a month after testing, or sooner if he/she really blitzed it!

I didn't know that edutests are easier?
DD is sitting an edutest, right now! In my experience, if your child did really really well, you will be offered an interview. They only give a very small number of interviews. |

Similar to what DS said, coffy11. There was one boy saying it was all very easy straight after, I thought "there goes one place!", lol. Thanks for all replies, I found that we'll be emailed a link to results after about 3 weeks - good to know you see how they compare to others. Probably not useful to show DS, but curious for me to see.
GL to all who sat. |

My daughter scored quite highly in all areas on the Edutests, but the ACER are set at a much higher bar to test those kids who are truly above the norm, or indeed gifted.
