Hi Everyone,
I hope I'm putting this in the right spot We've decided to try for our 3rd baby...I've had 4 previous miscarriages & the last 2 months I've had chemical pregnancies. I've been spotting right up until ovulation so my ob has put me on 10mg of provera twice a day from day 5 to day 25 & if I'm not pregnant in 3 months he will put me on clomid. I'm now on day 17 & no ovulation.....had some ewcm on & off,no positive OPK. I usually have a 28-30 day cycle. Most things I'm reading on the net is saying you can't get pregnant on provera? So why would my Dr put me on them? Can anyone please shed some light on this? I don't know whether to keep taking it or not? |

hmm, I thought provera was to help bring on menstruation, when I was prescribed that was the reason, to induce a period so I could start clomid.
From what you've described this (from the info sheet) is what it's being prescribed for? 3. Abnormal bleeding from the uterus, when the lining of the uterus breaks down during the menstrual cycle rather than at the end, resulting in vaginal spotting or bleeding. PROVERA helps to re-establish a regular menstrual cycle. This is also from the provera info sheet http://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/bhcv2/b...e/pfcprovt.pdf: Do not take PROVERA if you are pregnant or suspect you may be pregnant. PROVERA may affect your developing baby if you take it during pregnancy. I'd call to double check. |

I was put on a course of provera for 6 months which was to stop endo and adeno from growing. I was told we didn't need to use any other protection durning that time and if I thought I was pregnant I had to stop immediately.
