I've been strugling with this for months!

We are expecting number 2 in about a week.
Ive been stuck between two names, Marlee and Eliza, I also like Laila (not sure if DH likes this one though)
MN was going to be Jayme (DD1 has my middle name, DD2 was going to have DH's middle name (James)
DH has told me that he likes the name Marlee because he once had a very short term gf named Eliza many many years ago, and didn't want to use that name... Another alternative to Eliza, for me, is Aliza.
DD1's name is Alexi. Im not sure if Aliza is too close to Alexi?

For right now, first name options are Marlee and Aliza. and middle name options are Jayme (prefered, after DH), Mae (after my grandmother) or Jae/Jaye (trying to shorten Jayme to make it sound okay with Marlee) in that preference order.

Please help!!!
I'm not 100% happy with any of them like I was with DD1's name...
Marlee has been on my list since we had DD but a cousin has recently names their dog Marley... do you think that matters?
I had always loved the name Marlee because I used to sing the song "three little birds" to DD1 as a baby. It's the Elizabeth mitchell cover of a bob marley song.
Surname is 3 syllables and start with H.

Please list your top three combination prefrences in order...

My favourite from your list is Laila, which goes well with Alexi.

For mn
Mae is awesome.

(Jayme spelling is confusing - do you want it to be pronounced Jamie?)

Three couples in my extended family have children with names that were once also dogs names in the extended family (although generally gone before the birth of bub) - eg Bella. However, the child quickly owns the name, so I don't think it matters.
Don't know if this applies with ex-gf though!

I'm quite fond of Marlee. Great name!

My son is Marley, had he been a girl, he would have still been Marley.

Eliza Mae or Eliza Jay (for James) would be my first choice. I'm not keen on Aliza so much.

Agree Jayme doesn't really work with Marlee so Marlee Jay is an ok option. Laila Mae or Jay another option.

Mrs
Aliza Jaime

Marlee Jae

Laila Mae, Jae, Jaime

would you consider Alysse, Alyssa, Liza, Eloise to remove the name a little from Eliza. You'd always have to spell it Aliza

other names from Ja names - Jada, Jayda, Jaydelle, Jayden, Jaelyn, Jaelene, Jakayla, Jamila, Jamara, Jamiah, Jamika, Jamira or Amy from James/Jayme

a combo of James/Jayme and mae Jamae Jamaela Jamaya Jamaeah Jaymae Maejaime Majaime

I agree Aliza and Alexi are too similar and I dont think Eliza would be good with the ex GF history.

I quite like Marlee but agree it doesnt go with Jayme (btw I would spell it Jaymee or so pronounciation is more obvious - presuming it is meant to be pronounced Jay-mee and not Jayme like Jayne)

Laila is ok and Laila Jayme works fine.

but I vote for Marlee Jay. original.gif

I love Eliza, Eliza Mae would be beautiful.

What about Lila rather than Laila? I pronounce these the same, as Ly-lah.

Or Leila, pronounced Lay-lah?
