Hi ladies

Is there anyone out there who still uses their menstrual cup after being fitted with a Mirena? Was it something you discussed with your gyno/GP/OB?

My gyno advised me not to use mine after I asked her when she inserted my mirena. Mind you, she had never heard of menstrual cups before which suprised me After I explained to her what they were and how they worked, she thought it would be best not to use mine just in case I didn't break the suction properly.

Anyway, I am 4 months into having my mirena and still getting a lot of spotting. Not much but enough for me to use a tampon or pad (both of which I hate). I really want to use my cup but I am worried I might accidently dislodge my mirena. I cannot risk another pregnancy due to all 3 of my previous pregnancies being high risk and all resulting in preterm birth.

So what do you think? Am I overthinking it? Have you had any worries along these lines?

I think that if your gyno has recommended you to not use one that should be the answer.

Hi,

I have the copper IUD and I have just started using a menstrual cup. I had thought about it but given how high up the coil sits I don't think it is an issue. TO be honest I haven't had a professional opinion on this but I have read on other forums and this one that others also use it with a Mirena or copper coil.
