Anyone have a list they want to share?

I have a girl's name that I've been sitting on for years but I'll be stuffed if I have a boy! They're so much harder to name for some reason.

My girl name list that I've had since high school is now scrapped as they are all top 20. Amelia, Imogen, Isabelle and Charlotte are not to be. They were so pretty too.

I'm always up for a name discussion!

We have the same issue as you do, cherryseed - if we have a girl, the problem will be that we have to cut down our not-so-short shortlist, but if we have a boy we're stuffed. The girls in the baby name forum have already had way too many hypothetical boy name discussions with me and I'm still no closer.

A girl would likely have Harriet Iris as a frontrunner, with Georgia and Morgan as the main backups.

We also have a string of others on the list, including:

Annika
Bethany
Celeste
Diana
Elise
Eliza
Jocelyn
Juliet
Katja
Nadia
Nicola

And then there's others that I will still try and convince DP of although admittedly it's probably a useless cause - Greta, Gretchen and Saskia.

Boys though, everything we think of clashes with our surname, or with the family middle name we're using, clashes with DD's name or starts a trend we don't want to continue, we hate the nicknames, or they happen to be the names of people we know and for various reasons don't want the names shared with that person, or I can't get them past DP.

My list includes:

Alexander
Alistair
Andrew
Cameron
Connor
Damian
Doyle
Graham
Henry
James
Jonathon
Julian
Miles
Mitchell
Rohan
Scott
Wade
Wesley

But each and every one is unusable for us!!!

We had a girl and boy name picked when pregnant with DS. If we have a girl this time, we'll use the name we picked earlier. We've settled on a boys name too, so we're set.

Our current debate is godparents!

Ooh names... We're thinking Matilda for girl and Jack for a boy - I know super popular at the moment but it goes so well with our surname and DD name too! Keeping open to names though...so much time to make up minds smile1.gif

When dd was born we had Morris as our top boys name ,but now i'm not so sure. It feels like we need whole new lists!! Am currently into names starting with 'E', Edith for example ( Eadie as n'name), also maybe Errol for a boy. I like how it sounds but imagine it on a little boy! How does the name Erland for a boy sound? It's scandanavian. I suppose i'll be onto a whole new start letter by the time its needed!
Thanks for showing your boy list op. We also need all the help we can get with boy names !!

Ayla for a girl for me, and for a boy well we've been struggling but I'm stuck on Rocket. I know it's a bit odd, but how can you not be awesome with a name like Rocket?

DABRI: Oooh, Greta is a lovely name but I guess it's not for everybody.

MAMAMINDY: Matilda is gorgeous. Can't go wrong with that.

C_SHELL: I think Errol is really cool!

Like someone else said I'm keeping nicknames in mind. I kind of like the name Will for a boy (not entirely sold though) but the name Willy is awful!
