Can anyone give me an idea on how much zofran is?

I have horrible morning sickness and am considering it as maxolon is not cutting it.

I just paid $61 for 10 tablets I break them in half and only take 4mg at a time 1-2 times a day depending how bad the MS is. HTH

It is $9 per wafer, I just paid $36 for a prescription of 4. It is very expensive but considering I can't work or function without it I think it is worth it.

They can be broken in half but I don't know how effective that is as I have always just taken a whole one.

When I was pg I had the same problem and was quoted $115 for 10 tablets everywhere I looked.

My OB then told me to get it from the pharmacy attached to the hospital I was booked in to and I found that I could get it there for about $30.

Not sure where you are, but I am in Melbourne and this was 2 years ago.

Usually between $60-$110 for ten depending on pharmacy Ondanestron is the same thing and a bit cheaper than actual Zofran. It comes in wafer form usually to avoid throwing the tablet back up.

It cost me a fortune as I had to have a constant supply and took 2-3 4mg a day.

I have zofran, just checked it is actually ondansetron 8mg in tablet form and I paid $25 for 20tablets.

My OB actually sent me to the pharmacy as they are so cheap, they also do mail orders I'm sure, not sure if interstate though. I'm in Sydney if you want the details.

I'm told the 8mg tabs or wafers broken in half are a cheaper way to buy than 4mg.

I had a script from my GP filled at my hospital pharmacy (just happened to be there for an appointment). It was - get this - $36 for 10 x 8mg Zofran wafers. The pharmacist said hospitals pay a lot less than chemist shops because they buy huge quantities. Might be worth calling a few hospitals near you to see if their pharmacy can fill your prescription.

Aside from my new bargain hospital supplier, in the past I've paid $80ish for Zofran 10x8mg tabs and a nice pharmacist at my doctor's clinic saw me buying a few packs and gave me Ondasetron 10x8mg wafers for $65 instead of the $75 he charged the first time. You could always ask a pharmacist if they can give you a bit of a discount as you may be on these drugs for a while.

If you have private health insurance extras you may be able to claim some money back - get the pharmacist to give you a proper printed receipt (not just a docket).

Hope you don't need it for too long. I know it's expensive when youre paying full price but I just think of it in terms of coffees - it's worth the price of a few skinny lattes each day not to feel like death!

Shop around for sure - I had huge price variations.

And def get the highest mg and break them, that also cuts the cost down.

But for those of us who just puke and puke and puke and get dehydrated etc and have to work/care for people its just a life saver.

I had to take it until the day before I had them...and even then had to pull over on the way to hospital for the section to puke.

God, thank god I never have to do that again.

My OBGYN recommended a nearby compounding chemist that makes their own. So so much cheaper ( I can't remember exactly by maybe $30 for 25 and they worked perfectly.

If was a carlingford chemist in Sydney in the shopping centre. Maybe a local compounding chemist offers the same?
