Hi guys,
I'm new at this and need advice. This is my firstPregnancy and I'm almost 5 weeks. I will be seeing my gp on Monday next week and not sure who I should get a referral for? I have private health insurance with medibank and was thinking of seeing an ob that delivers at Frances perry, epworth, Cabrini or another reputable hospital. Could you also advise costs at all if known? Thanks so much!! |

Congratulations on your pregnancy. If you are thinking about going to any of those hospitals I would try to book in with the obstetrician this week as some book out by 5 weeks.
If you decide on a OB or even two, ring and ask about their fees and then book in asap. You can then tell your GP next week who you want the referral to. I will PM you my recommendation for an OB who delivers at Freemasons and St Vincent's. I'm not sure of any at the other hospitals. |

Congratulations!
I went to Cabrini and it was great. If you go to their website you can download a list of their OBs. Your gp might give you a few referrals and recommend some in particular. Once you have your referral, ring them straight away and they book the hospital for you even before you have your first appointment so you don't miss out. Cabrini books out very quickly! All the best! This post has been edited by Zima: 20/02/2013, 02:22 PM |

Hi guys,
Thanks so much for your replies. I have booked in with Dr Catherine Duncan at Cabrini. If anyone would like to pm me any info about fees, personality etc, I would really appreciate it. It's really hard being a first timer, never had to think of any of this !! thanks |
