Hi

Just wondering if anyone has done a trip to London, Paris and NYC with kids? How did you (and the kids) cope? Particularly with jetlag? Please fill me in with your experience.

We did London in August (20mo, 4yo on the flight and 5yo) and then Paris/Switzerland in the December when the kids were just turned 2,4&6 yrs.

They had less issues with jet lag than us.

London and Paris are not well set up for prams so if you can avoid one it is good or just take a super cheap light umbrella one (we took $20 target cheapie).

You mean in one trip OP?

We've done a three flight trip to the USA, including NYC with a nearly 2 yr old and 5 yr old. Perth-LA-Boston in one hit. As pp said, kids were fine, parents were WRECKED. It took a week to recover so I recommend staying as long as you can in one spot if at all possible. Lucky for us we went for a couple of months so plenty of time to recover. In the end I had to resort to sleeping pills for dh and I to get back on track. Kids seemed fine and slept fairly normal from the first day.

Thanks IsolaBella original.gif

What I meant was if anyone has done the 3 cities in one go? We are considering this as it's cheaper to London than NYC!! We thought we'd do London, Paris, London, NYC, London in a month. Just wondering if we are too ambitious!

So you'll go Aust City - London - Paris - London - NYC - London - Aust City? Is there a stop-over to London?

It would be too much for me and I'm a keen traveller.

OP I'd probably see if I could just go Aust City - London - Paris - NYC - Aust city (most probably stop over in LA) I wouldn't do the above as the savings would counteract the enjoyment for me and add a fair bit of travel time.

Correct me if I am wrong, I just thought that Paris being so close to London, it's like going from Sydney to Newcastle. The difficult part would be from London to NYC and back??

Paris to London is a short flight.... The pain is the airports. I would do that Eurostar. Much faster.

Yeah, was thinking of getting the train, it's a quick (ish) ride. Would probably quite enjoy the scenery...
