A spin off on another thread regarding sleepovers:
My DS is growing up and will soon be invited to sleepovers or hosting one ourselves. We currently live in a small 2 bedroom apartment. How do people host sleepovers in a small space? Lacking a backyard, what kind of activities do you do to keep the kids entertained? My DS's room is only big enough to have one other person sleep in there, otherwise 2 kids (max) and DS can sleep in the lounge. I'd love for DS to experience sleepovers.
So how do people living in small spaces host sleepovers?

Sleep them any old where. The kids won't care.

As for entertaining them, maybe get them there early enough that you can go to a park for a while before they are restricted to the indoors. Indoors you could let them build cubbies with bedsheets, play boardgames, watch DVDs, bake something. Whatever your DS does for fun is fine.

The excitement of a sleepover is in the fact that you are sleeping somewhere other than home. No special entertainment is required.

I agree with PP - when we had sleepovers as children, it was just the fun of having someone extra or being somewhere else - I know my mum just left us to ourselves.

We're a family of 5 in a 3-bedroom house. If the boys have sleepovers, either they all go in the playroom on mattresses, or one of the boys goes in with DD and the one who has a friend stays in their room with friend in brother's bed. I don't think we'll ever have more than 1 extra at a time. If we have guests, then they sleep in the boys' room and the boys sleep in the playroom.
