We have a dilemma...
My husband and I have disagreed a lot on names for our baby! I'm only 19wks at the moment so there's plenty of time, but we've finally found something we both like.. Harrison! The problem? The dog's name is Harry.. Anybody have any other suggestions for nicknames for Harrison?? |

Harris is about all I could come up with
(Sonny at a stretch) Could you change the dogs name (Larry, Sammy, something similar sounding) |

H. Hazza. Rizo. Sonny. Honestly it will most likely be Harry unless its a NN not pertaining to the actual name, which usually takes time (and a personality and relationship) to evolve..
Maybe you could make a NN using your surname, and/or MN initials?? Or change the dogs name and probably confuse it. Or just find another name you both like. That won't be too hard...Right?? I feel for you, I really do. Names are so freaking hard to agree on! |

I think you should take the 20 weeks you have left an find another name you like. sorry but its the same name... your dog and son would have the same name
and no matter what his nickname is from you or if you don't give him one people will shorten it to Harry. |

Harro? Very Aussie ocker though. What anout Harris? I love Harrison myself however an ex best mate used Harry and it is too close for me. We have 3 names we like right now, 2 end in the same sound our last name stars in. Another is basically my dads NN with son added and we would be facing the adding an o sound to the NN or a s sound.
We changed our dogs name because it was the NN I wanted to use for a future girl. He hasn't been confused (and he aunt the smartest tool in the doggy shed) though we changed when he came to us so maybe that is why. |

Just choose another name.
And don't change the dog's name, I'm sick of people who say that in threads like this. |

I agree. I also find that you can't force nicknames... they just come out. He will get Harry for sure!! |

He will get Harry as nn from people but thtq won't affect your dog because most people won't meet your pet
Have a nickname that you and your family use for eg we have Briannah but I dislike Bree so she gets Ninny from us but I know at school her friends call her Bree. And we have Penelope and I dislike Penny and we have a son Ben who gets Benny, so her nickname is Lolli, my MIL and SIL are the only ones who call her Penny. |
