Hi all,
It has been a while since I have posted here. Happy to report we are expecting a beautiful baby boy! Already looking a touch like my father and me on 3d ultrasound. However, I am 22w6d and still only feel pops and flutters, some days more, some days hardly any. It's very worrisome! Bub is measuring in the 95th%tile so a little concerned about that too. Placenta is anterior which could be contributing to the situation. Anyone else in the no kicks yet situation?

I am 28 weeks and also have an anterior placenta, this would be the reason your not feeling alot of movement, It limits how much you feel until baby is bigger. Im now feeling plenty of movement, I wouldnt be too concerned, however there is no point in worrying because it wont do you nay good, you can always go to the hospital and have fetal monitoring done. It will put your mind at ease biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

How far along were you when you started feeling regular movements / kicks? My baby measures closer to 25 w than 23. But dates are absolute.

My Baby is also measuring bigger but I think it would of been around 25 weeks that I felt definate kicks, before that it was more just flutters and movements I had felt, was the same with my first son too. As long as your feeling flutters I think its all ok. Even some days now I dont feel heaps of movement and was concerned about it, When I had my appointment they put me on the fetal monitoring machine and baby was perfect rolleyes.gif

When I was pregnant with DD who is a June baby I did not feel definite movements until the end of February. I had a posterior placenta too so I would say it is because of your anterior placenta making bubs harder to feel.

My war paint is Sharpie ink
I've had both a posterior and an anterior placenta and it does feel very different. At that stage with an anterior placenta I was beginning to feel very light movements and it was a few more weeks before I noticed they were becoming stronger and more regular.

I'm 23 weeks today with an anterior placenta. I get the occasional commando roll and a fair few flutters. Usually early evening, after dinner, I can stretch out and get a few belly pops, but I wouldn't call them strong kicks yet. Not a lot of feeling during the day when I'm busy, just when I lean back and relax.
I wouldn't worry atm. I think around 28 weeks is when you start tracking kicks.

Hi there,

I'm 21 weeks today, anterior placenta and baby was measuring in the 97th percentile at our morphology scan last week (kind of a week ahead). Have felt the occasional tap, flutter and roll but not much. Ob advised that because DH and I are both tall this could account for the above average growth but also that it does change over time. They also advised it could be anything from 25-28 week mark before I feel proper kicks.

Hope you're not worrying too much.

Take care,
Magenta

Hi Magenta,
That does somewhat help. I am also on another forum where those women seem to be feeling their babies so regularly. It's to the point that if they don't feel bub every hour then a few docs have advised them to go to emergency/maternity.
I rarely feel him and sometimes question if it's him or digestion so it's making me feel so anxious. I'm thinking of staying off that forum, at least until I feel regular kicks. There's even a post about what they can eat to get baby moving. I wish!!! 23 weeks and still no clear, discernible kicks.
