Hi,

My nearly 8 Year old son has ADHD and SPD. At night time he wraps the sheet around his head. As I worry about him so much , I find that I am up checking on him every 2 hours. We have tried a night mask to help with the night time fear however he likes that snuggled in feeling. Has anyone tried the weighted blankets ? or have you tried anything that has worked ?
Thanks In Advance for any suggestions.

i have heard weighted blankets are fantastic but they arent cheap!! We where thinking of that for 2yr old DS because he is a huge sensory seeker but he just cant stand blankets at all on.

Here is a link to make your own weighted blanket. I haven't tried it so I don't know how it feels or sounds. You could try wrapping it up in a doona or blanket and putting it in a pillow case or doona cover. My son has a weighted blanket which he sleeps with or has on him when he's having a bad day. He only has it on him for a little while as he gets hot.

I'll admit I don't know much about ADHD or SPD. But when I was younger I was petrified at night time and I used to sleep with my sheets and blankets totally over my whole head. I would then make one tiny little breathing hole by pulling the blankets aside just a smidgen....just so my mouth and nose were free.
