Hi,We are new to Canberra and I'm wondering what options there are here for kids dental care. I have 3 kids aged 8, 6 and 4. They are all due for a checkup and clean so I was wondering if there is a "school dental program" or some sort of public / government funded option or do most people take their kids to a private dentist? We are in the Gungahlin area.
Thanks in advance,

I'm not sure what most people do but we go to a private dentist. The one we take the kids to is a pediatric dentist and he's awesome. I'll pm you the name. wink.gif

We see Lynne at the government funded clinic in civic. You can book via 62079977. She is wonderful and all check ups are free and any treatment has a capped price of I think $50 dollars no matter how many things are required.

I think for under 5's theyre entitled to a free check up at the community health centre. Also if you happen to have private health with NIB there's a Pacific Smiles centre in Woden where all check & cleans are fully covered by NIB. I've been there twice now & they've been great.

the government dentist is only free if you have a health care card, or children under 5. Otherwise it is 50.00.
