It is okay to do so assuming your doctor/midwife has no reason to say it's not e.g. no blood pressure problems, other pregnancy complications.

However, I'd be worried about how I could keep to the food recommendations in pregnancy while overseas. Sometimes there's not the selection while you're travelling that you have at home. I can't speak with any experience about Fiji or the Cook Islands, but anywhere where the water isn't safe to drink from the tap worries me a little.

yes 6 months is fine. Just make sure you follow your diet, and drink plenty of fluids etc.

I personally think 6 months pregnant is a great time for a babymoon, as you are full of energy in comparison to 1st and 3rd trimesters and can actually sleep at night original.gif

Have fun!

I went to the Cook Islands when 26 weeks it was fabulous!! I went there for 2 weeks!!
Just have a note from your gp/ob to say you are fit to fly with your passport and there is no worries and also board early to your flight and approach the airline stewards to get priority boarding.
Loved it!

Good luck

Remember you are unique...just like everyone else!
I went to the Cook Islands when I was 24 weeks pregnant with my 1st - great time to travel and no issues at all.

I would get the OK and a letter from my OB, and also double check that the travel insurance covers pregnancy, birth and a newborn if required. A lot of policies cut out quite early.

I am booked to go to Fiji in July when I will also be six months.

I am booked into a resort and have inquired that there will be alacarte meals available, and I will be careful with water.

I am really looking forward it, I think it will be a good time to relax

Thankyou for youre replies, yes ill be nearly 27 weeks by then, as we were planning on going in early July.

I think it would be a great time too relax, as long as my Dr is happy for me to go. Yes i imagine you would have to be careful with the water, and just drink bottled water to be safe.

Yes it will be great as this will be our first trip overseas with the children.

I recently went to the Maldives at 23/24 weeks - was great!

Didn't want to go any later as the travel insurance policy I had only covered unexpected pregnancy complications that occurred up until 26 weeks.

Op it might be easier if you tried to go just a couple if weeks earlier. I looked at heaps of travel insurance policies and they all only covered until 26 weeks. Someone else might have other info but we did adjust the dates of out trip to ensure we were covered. We arrived back when I was 26+1.
