Going interstate for a few days, and plan to take my pump with me. I only want to take a small carry on bag. Can I bring it with me onto the flight? Just a bit worried since it's small, electric with bits sticking out, and unfamiliar looking to most people. I won't have DS with me.
TIA |

I took my medela swing for interstate and international flights in my carry-on. Even went through LAX which has the most stringent security in the world. It was no problem! Never got questioned about it, and they saw it clear as day on the x-ray machine.
There was a case in the US a while ago where a woman was hassled but the TSA had to make a big formal apology etc and now has stuff on their webiste. I'm sure nobody in Australia would give you a hard time. If they question what it is just tell them. It's classed as a personal item. I'm pretty sure they would have seen them (and plenty of other things!) before. They let people take laptops on, a breastpump isn't a problem. Have a great trip! |
