I'm wanting to buy my boys a springfree trampoline and was wondering if I bought a secondhand one....am I insane to think I might be able to put it together with a bit of help?

I'm thinking of the medium oval.

let me just say... ummm have fun!!!!

It took us 4 people, 4 hours to put together a friends square one... ok there was alcohol involved but yeah its not easy!

We have an oval SF. The unassembled packages would not have fit in my large 4WD.

It is possible to assemble it with just one person but you better be strong and determined. DH and a mate assembled ours (sober). There was cursing and blood loss.

When this mate needed help assembling theirs, we were away for holidays so he had to do it himself. According to his wife, it took over 6hrs combined to complete (large round one). That's sober, strong, good with puzzle pieces, and experienced after assembling ours.

I think there was a local mob who charge around $250 to assemble the tramp. Afterwards, DH thought it would have been a better investment.

This is a spin off from the topic in News about teachers at an Islamic school being forced to wear a hijab whether or not they are Muslim.

Let's say that they are allowed to enforce this, as it's within the scope of the religion, although it was pointed out by Sarah that it's not actually a "law" as such.

If you agree with this do you think science teachers in faith-based schools should be "forced" to teach Creationism? I'm not talking religious teachers, but science teachers.

I admit I had a teeny bit of sympathy for the dress code thing, but I feel very strongly on creationism being taught as science anywhere.

Is that too long a bow to draw?

We have a medium oval springfree trampoline and DF and I put it together over 2 days (it started raining while we were assembling the base) getting the "spring" poles in was hell. DF works in construction so is pretty strong but I was laying on top of the trampoline pulling the mat down so it would be easier for DF to put the poles in.

My suggestion... Watch the you tube video before attempting to put it together. We just went around putting the spring poles in clockwise but you are apparently supposed to do north/south first then east/west so you always have 4 corners down at a time. We definately did it the hard way but I don't think it was *that* bad and we didn't suffer any blood loss.

ETA: I would also not be buying a secondhand one that had to be unassembled as well. I think taking it apart would be way worse than putting it together.

We have the massive square one and hubby put it up in about 1.5 hrs on his own (with me putting in my 2 cents worth occasionally....heavily pregnant)

I would have not a snowballs chance in hell of being able to put it up myself.

We have a medium oval, and have moved it once.
Taking it down was easy enough, one husband job.
Putting it together was 2 hours of frustration, then reading the instructions finally and 20 mins of relatively easy assembly.

When we bought ours I opted to pay the extra $100 and get them to put it together.

Two experienced guys, just under an hour. Large oval size.


We still have the boxes in the garage and they are really long. Think the length of the white support poles. So no way would they fit in any 4WD. You will need a van or trailer and they will still hang off the end.

Ours was delivered in a station wagon, the boxes are really long but he had the seats laid down and they fitted. Some of the steel frame sections are long, most of the rest can be folded.

It took the installation guy 45 mins to put it up - money well spent. I attempted to help get the springs hooked into the mat and couldn't get one done in the time he took to do the rest. I was strong enough to bend it but couldn't master the little flick to hook it into the catch. Springfree offer a service (for a fee) to relocate trampolines if you are in the right area.
