I would really appreciate anyones thoughts pls.....
I had trouble concieving (2years ttc) in the uk underwent tests diagnosed with pcos and endo. I had lap done but moved house so follow up appoinment was at different hospital they requested medical records got lost on route, they said would have to do another lap as cant treat me without records. I travelled back to original hospital explained situation they put me on medication. Records were never found but was referred for ivf but a week before appointment found out was pregnant. Had ds1.Breastfed for 11 months then started to wean fully weaned by 1st birthday never had af 1st ppaf arrived 2 weeks later a month later i was pregnant ds2!!Breastfed ds2 for 6 months af didnt not return untill 10 months last 4 cycles been anovulatory, went to gp refered to fertility specialist.The inital appointment costs $250 was told they will redo tests as no medical history i dont have insurance so will pay 100% I know i have been pregnant naturally just dont know how long should it take fertility to get back to normal after bf im going into month 5 of no ovulation and im getting closer to 35 and hubby 40I took vitex at 10months to bring af on not sure if worked or just timing but gp told me not to take it said it might do more harm than good nature needs to get body back to normalWe badly want another baby but as on strict baby making diets hubby doing so well with not drinking but i missed caffine that much i had a lapse and had 3 drinks in 1 day felt guilty ever since

Sorry forgot to mention im in oz now
$250 is alot but of they would give me something to bring on ovulation then its understandable but to pay it to be told need all tests again is waste of money as wouldnt redo them

If you have PCOS then that might explain the Annov. cycles you are having. Have they put you on Metformin?

Im not on anything as GP refered me to go to specialist and i have no medical records confirming my issues so was told on phone if i go in to see them it will cost $250 but they will probably say need to redo tests before treating me.Just wondered how long peoples cycles took to get back to normal after breastfeeding?

You should be able to request a pelvic ultrasound and blood tests from your GP which should be able to diagnose PCOS. These tests start to add up in themselves though and even with private health you would get nothing back, just some back from Medicare. From memory a pelvic ultrasound is $150 and I think you get about half back from Medicare. If PCOS is confirmed the GP may be able to prescribe Metformin and even Clomid. Depending on when your last lap was for the endo may also mean it is worth having another one if there is more disease now...I know they get expensive! Mine this month is costing all up $5500 and we will be about $3500 out of pocket with Medicare and private health so we pay nothing for the hospital stay.

My FS has similar costs for first visit, he also had us redo the tests that our GP had ordered. I think it is fairly standard alas OP.

I know when I was seeing my dr who did everything up to the IVF stage, I asked him would I have to do all the tests again and he said no but that was due to the name he made for himself, the IVF dr's in the area knew when he said "endo removed 100% at time of lap" that it had been. When the tests had been carried out they had been carried correctly. I was happy with this, but I know other people who have had to redo the tests at the IVF place because the IVF place wants to make sure.
