It sounds like a masculine name or a surname to me, so my first guess if I saw that name written down would be "boy".

But, I suspect I'm in the minority.

Either, not sure which it is traditionally but know both boys and girls with it. I would use it for a boy personally but wouldn't think it out of place on a girl.
