I have just opened a container of gravy. When scrunching up the metal seal I have stabbed myself in my pointing finger, right on the end. It has bled like nothing else, and I am finding cutting the vegies for dinner a little harder than usual, with my finger pointing out at right angles, and being very careful of when the blood falls.

So - what have you cut yourself on, and thought, how the blazes did I do that?

I used to work as a check out chick at Woolies many years ago.

I cut myself on a wrapped up bundle of prawns from the seafood dept. No idea how, just felt something sharp and finger was bleeding everywhere.

A book.

I was reading a hardback book in bed and must have fallen asleep for a moment and let the book fall onto my face, because I woke up with a scratch on my chin that was bleeding.
I told everyone that the cat had scratched me because "I cut my chin on a book" just sounded silly!

Well this is probably an obvious one for most.... I read a Mummy blog a few years back which had all these greats tips and tricks for around the house. At the time my son was on formula and she had a post about all the ways you can re-use formula tins. Brilliant idea I thought. So first empty tin comes along and while I am washing it I slice my finger around the edge. Ended up with stitches. Not so brilliant idea for me to re-use formula tins!

My war paint is Sharpie ink
It was a knife but I was cutting up the carrot peelings and tops for our worm farm (to make it easier for the worms) the last time I cut myself badly. I just took the pad of my finger right off and looked down in shock thinking "I didn't just do that did I? Well sh*t that rather hurts!"

The doctor had a laugh when I told him what I'd been doing.

I'm developing very distinctive fingerprints over the years.

I have two stupid cuts that come to mind.

One required stitches, I opened an overhead kitchen cupboard and was stretching to get something. I must have leaned ont he door handle more than I thought as the ceramic door handle snapped off and cut my fingers to shreds.

The other was washing one of those old fashioned flour sifters! I still don't know how. Cut my finger very badly, probably should have checked if I needed stitches then as it kept opening up for days afterwards and bleeding.

A champagne glass. I was moving it away so i wouldn't knock it over, only to actually knock it over. The stem snapped and stabbed me in the hand.
