It's my valentines day boy's birthday tomorrow and I want to pack him a special lunch
He loves antipasto platters do I thought I would assemble some stuff in little containers for him to take. I have 6 slices hot salami 2 slices bertocci ham 4 cheese filled peppers Small container mixed marinated olives Small container semi dried tomatoes About 1/4 small wedge of Jarlesburg cheese (sliced) A yummy crusty roll which I will slice and butter I will also wrap some cherry tomatoes in basil leaves and put those in, in the morning. I also have some grapes and canteloupe & honeydew melon for dessert. So what else can I send along, or do you think that's enough This post has been edited by TopsyTurvy: 13/02/2013, 04:11 PM |

Oh wow yum! Mmm I second the chocolate
Maybe some dolmades, and I'd probably add another little bit of a different cheese. Might plan my hubby a bit of a picnic for his birthday too! Thanks op |

That sounds like a fantastic lunch, and probably doesn't need any more - but if you want to add extra you could look for some little bocconcinis, dolmades, baby falafel, stuffed apricots (I found these for an antipasto platter at a pretty fancy local deli).

Sounds delish! How about adding a roasted capsicum or tomato dip? Also think chocolates are a good idea.

I love chargrilled zucchini on antipasto platters. Thinly slice, grill on hot griddle with olive oil and then pop in the fridge

sounds great.
I'd add another bread and some dips in small containers (hommus, tzatziki etc) and chocolate or maybe ad pesto to the second roll if you don't have dips. |

Sounds like a gorgeous lunch! I'm salivating. I second the suggestion of dips and chocolate, but otherwise you have covered your bases very well. I also love me some feta.

Thanks for the suggestions!
I'll pop on some Jaffa cakes for chocolate, and I'll grill some capsicum and make a dip with some Philly, plus slice some regular cheese I have decided to include a note with each thing. Sor far I have: Olives - o-live-you. (I love you) The peppers - I want to "pepper" you with kisses The semi dried tomatoes - you say tah-mato, I say I love you The jarlsberg - it might sound cheesy, but I love you The salami - let's get spicy together Jaffa cakes - chocolate and orange a match made in heaven - just like us. The fruit - you are the apple of my eye But now I am stumped. What can I put with the ham? The roll? The capsicum dip? The basil and tomatoes? The extra cheese? Help please This post has been edited by TopsyTurvy: 13/02/2013, 04:31 PM |
