Hi, I am almost 5 weeks Pg now, i am feeling quite nervous at the moment, as prior to this i have sadly had 3 re-current miscarriages, which have been unexplained. The hard part is that i dont really have many early pregnancy symptoms, and i didnt with my 3 boys either. My breasts are slighty enlarged and abit tender to touch, and occaisionally i do get abit of an ache in my tummy, but that is all.

Last time i had a scan at 7 weeks and the sonographer found just an empty sac, and i had some spotting prior to that as well. Should i be having an early scan at 6 weeks or is it better just to wait?

Is it normal to have no symptoms, does anyone else have this as well. Thankyou

I think the majority of symptoms kick in after 6 or 7 weeks.

And yes, you can have a scan if it sets your mind at rest. If you're going to stress for the next 7 or so weeks till the NT scan, then you can ask for a dating scan or to set your mind at rest.

Spotting isn't always a sign of a MC though, I had bleeding in my pregnancy and it worked out fine in the end.

Thanks Jenflea for youre best wishes, i know im trying to take my mind things by keeping busy. I have an appointment to see my Gp on the 25th, so he may give me a referral then, which think would help, rather than waiting for the 12 week Nt scan. I beleive that spotting isnt always bad, but sadly for me it hasnt been a good outcome.

my3beautifulboys- i understand how you feel. I have had 5 M/C and its hard not to stress. I'm 5 weeks today and don't have alot of symptoms yet besides mild nausea but was extremely sick at this stage with my daughter.

I have booked a scan for 7 weeks, theres no way i can wait until 12 weeks i will stress too much. If it will ease your mind then definitely get the early scan.

I'm 5 weeks on Sunday and have had 4 recurrent miscarriages in the last year, so I know exactly how you feel. I'm still POAS so I can make sure the lines don't fade. I also keep check my boobs still hurt, because it's a sign for me when they don't that I've lost it.

I've got a scan booked for the 7th week, and all I wont to see is a heartbeat.

I know how youre feeling and I wish I could tell you something to help. We just have to hope and pray that these little beans stay put.

Like everyone else that's replied, I've had multiple miscarriages too (3) and am so frightened that this baby won't stick. Due to my age it will be our last try.
All I can say is that you're not alone and just to hang in there. Hopefully this one will turn things around for all of us. xxx

Thankyou all for youre kind thoughts and best wishes. i'm so sorry to hear that youve been through m/c 's as well. It makes it all so much harder being pg each time, not knowing if things are going to be alright. I also check for symptoms, i still have swollen tender boobs too, which i hope is a good sign? This one does feel abit different, as with the other 3 that sadly ended in m/c, very early on i had very vivid dreams, but i havnt this time. I dont know if thats a good sign or not.

If you're going to request a scan I suggest you try to hold out til 6.5 - 7 weeks. I had mine done and was only 5 weeks - couldn't see a hb that early and now I'll be stressing til the NT scan. I thought I was 6w2d, but was only 5w1d.

Chaton, my first scan was too early too, my doctor wrote me another referral for a dating scan for the 7 week point. Maybe you could get one too if you're concerned?
