I have posted our short list before, but I'm still really unsure of the names:
Hugo Henry Harvey Middle name will be Jacob. DS is Edgar George, and none of those names feel quite right with Edgar. I feel that Hugo is too trendy, Henry too popular, and Harvey I'm not sure about. I really want the names to work together! DH really likes Sidney, and while I love the NN Sid, I just don't know if I could do it living in Sydney. Any thoughts? Suggestions (please just a few, I get overwhelmed by massive lists). We like uncommon, slightly quirky, old fashioned/traditional names. Nothing too frilly or feminine sounding. Thanks! |

How about Gilbert?
I agree Hugo is too trendy now, but I think Henry and Harvey are great. |

I love Edgar, btw - I was about to suggest that in the other thread, too... Synchronicity! |

I think Harvey goes well with Edgar.
Hugo is nms and Henry seems a bit plain. How about Roland? ETA - Whoa, snap FlamingoG, and I didn't even see the other thread. Roland was the only name that came to me! This post has been edited by littlepoppet: 13/02/2013, 12:32 PM |

I love Harvey. I wanted to call my son Harvey but my DH didnt like the name. We ended up calling our son Jay. It came about because he was looking at names on the internet and I asked what letter he was up to and he said J. I then said what about the name Jay and we just both loved it.
Other names that you might like are:- Jed Archer (love this name) George Lincoln Wyatt Elliott Lyle Good luck!!! |

George is DS' middle name. Archer, Lincoln and Jed are NMS and don't go with Edgar at all IMO. I like Elliot but it's my nephew's name. Wyatt and Lyle would sound funny with our last name (it has the 'eye' sound in it). What about Hugh Jacob Fabian Jacob Dominic Jacob Charles Jacob Stuart Jacob Alistair Jacob Fabian and Alistair are a bit too frilly and feminine for our liking. Dominic is my nephew's name, and DH's cousin's name. Not keen on Charles or Stuart. Will mention Hugh instead of Hugo to DH. |

Vincent Jacob Tobias Jacob Isaac Jacob I figure I may as well be honest! You didn't do too badly Percival and Clarence too frilly. Samuel too plain. Isaac to biblical. Frank and Walter not the right amount of dated. Don't mind Author. I like Frederick, but we have an Edgar (Eddy) so a Freddy might not be the best idea! Vincent (and Victor) have been floating around in the background. I do like Conrad, but our surname starts with C, and I am already a CC. I do like Tobias, but our surname ends in 'is' so a bit rhymey. |
