Why do you need a nickname for Leo? Beautiful name on its own.

Thank you Madam Plum! I am due to have DS2 in May and every name I like is able to be shortened into a nn. I guess a nn Is quite endearing! What do you think?

In itself Leo is a shortened name. It doesn't need a nickname.

Nicknames should just happen organically.

You can't 'make one'.

It'll happen.

My DP is calls Bob by his mother, his name is actually Simon, 'Bob' is short for 'shish-ka-bob'.... making sense? No? Well that is the essence of nicknamery!

My mother called me Squirtly G! That (you can probably guess from my username) has nothing at all in common with my name.

Don't force it OP.

I thought Leo was a nn? Short for Leonard, or Leonardo???

I'd just stick with Leo.

See you made the error of giving him a totally awesome unshortenable name! Rookie mistake!

With a name as little as Leo the only way is longer IMO (unless you use his initials or MN).

So:

Leopold
Leopoldus
Leopoldo
Leonardo
Leonidas

etc

ETA In reality I would abandon the quest. Lovely name. Just continue to use as is. So funny when so many people angst over their kid's name being shortened when they don't want it to be.
