Dettol

Hi there, I am 6 weeks 4 days pregnant and did something very very stupid last night.... I am suffering from a very painful UTI infection (have an appointment with Dr today) and in desperation last night dabbed a bit of dettol liquid onto the opening of my urethra. I washed this off when having a shower then later put some dettol cream there ~ followed by again wiping it off when my hubby said he didn't think it would be ok, I'm sure he was right! Now I am worried this will hurt our baby because dettol is so toxic. To be honest I feel like it cleared the infection quite alot I'm not in so much pain now. But oh dear I really feel like an idiot. Has anyone done anything this stupid before? Where there side effects? help!

To be honest, I don't think it will hurt the baby at all. But nor do I think it will clear the Uti. Go to the Dr first thing today and get antibiotics suitable for pregnancy and buy some ural from the chemist. Utis can get serious if not properly treated.
