Hi all,

We need a double (have a swift at the moment). The strider compact seems to meet our needs best but I'm worried about if I will hate it having had a MB?

Anyone gone from mb to a compact? Thoughts? The other option is the navigator (Phil & teds) but the double set up is no where near as good.

I was *this* close to buying a strider, but after playing with it a few times I ended up getting a MB duet. For me it came down to how much I would be walking outdoors, and the MB just handles so much better (suspension was a big one too). And even though they are both kinda big and bulky in different ways, the idea of all the fiddly bits put me off the compact in the end too.

As an MB owner - don't go there!!! Get a MB Duet.

I know someone who's gone from a Strider to a MB Urban. They bought a really old, slightly bashed up MB as a spare pram to leave at the holiday house, but totally planned to keep the lovely Strider for home, especially as they're expecting their second child.

They had always been opposed to the MB because one has a mobility issue, and they believe the 4-wheeler Strider offered more stability for that parent. As it turned out, they fell deeply in love with the cheap, bashed up MB and sent the newish Strider to the holiday house (and still never use it anymore.)


Oh, and I thought of another friend who had a Strider (original) for her first, with the plan it would do when she had a second. She used it for about 12 weeks with both kids, then got a MB Duet which she now uses every day.

Admittedly these were Strider PLus, not Compact, but I think once you've had a MB, a Strider just won't cut it.

I wonder whether the experience with the compact would be different to the plus?

I don't recommend the compact I hate it & will be selling it as its bulky, heavy and hard to steer. I have a MB swift and will be looking at keeping it with a board for my toddler when the new baby is born.

Ok, I thought I'd come back to update.

I just bought the strider after searching for a double pram and looking for many reviews.

I also own a MB swift so was pretty worried I would hate it in comparison.

So far I LOVE it!

It is super easy to push, it's been good off road & is much easier to stear with 2 toddlers in it that my friends double Phil & Teds.

I love the seat adjustment. I'm not a huge fan of how the buckle does up but apparently that's due to a change in the standard.

The double set up is awesome & I don't hit the second seat while walking even though I'm short because the handle bar comes out in line with the second seat (which I do with P&Ts).

It is heavier and bulkier in my boot that my swift but it is a double.

I love the basket, heaps of space. It's super easy to fold. Basically I'm stoked with it. And that is saying a lot from someone who was previously a very string MB supporter!
