Did you/would you dye your hair during pregnancy?, I'm starting to look pretty feral!

My regrowth is shocking. My colour is faded. I have the box of colour... Yet, there is my mums voice in my head, saying "don't dye your hair, your baby will eat chemicals!". What do you think? Have you? Would you?

Yes absolutely.....I continued with foils during both my pregnancies...I don't think there's anything wrong with it...it's taking the "safety in pregnancy" message too far I think (I'm preparing to be flamed...)

Yes i double checked with with my OB and he said the last 7 to 8 yrs dying your hair is pretty safe in Australia also teh dye they use where i go is ammonia free

Of course. The dyes aren't absorbed into the blood stream. Odours are minimal - hairdressers inhale a lot more during the course of their working day. If you're concerned go to the salon & get foils (colour doesn't touch the scalp).

No, I wouldn't. But I'm one of those people who avoids chemicals and doesn't dye their hair anyway. So, ignore me.

Yep I would and have. I'm getting some regrowth now and will go back to the hairdresser to get it done soon.

I went from Black to bright red. This process included bleaching my hair so the red was vibrant. I was 20 weeks pregnant with DS1 and although I did get a little nausea from the chemicals it didn't affect me or DS1 at all

I always did. I think it's been conclusively shown that chemicals don't pass in to the blood stream.
