How best to sell a car?

So we are acquiring a 2009 Ford Captiva privately next month, & afterwards we wish to sell our 1998 Honda CRV. We've never had to do it before. Does anyone have an opinion about where/how is the best way to do this? Trading Post Gumtree eBay Else?

I have sold 3 cars on the Trading Post and all sold within 5 days....cars sold were older models, like yours, and I got the price I wanted. Warning though, you will get stupid phone calls asking for you to drive it to some remote location and others offering stupid amounts like $500. I also got heaps of people asking me to "hold the car" so they could come and get it on the weekend.....without a deposit or any money? I think not

We sold recently thru carsales.com.au Sold within 2 days so we were happy with that. Make sure all your paperwork is in order ready for when you advertise. Most buyers will try to beat you down by as much as $500, so be prepared.

My brother sold his car by parking it on the side of a road with a sign in the window. I have noticed quite a few cars for sale parked around our local area.

I sold my car on a local FB selling page. I had people call me about it from seeing signs on it and also Gumtree but it was FB that sold it in the end.

We just sold a car on Ebay it was easy and sold in 5 days and got what we asked for.
