I'd like to hear from anyone with experience in seeing a chiropractor if possible.
Im wondering at what point should a Chiropractor be asking me to have xrays? I saw one for the first time today for neck pain that I've been having for years. I was there for 20 minutes, he did 3 manual adjustments and then said to have xrays done and be back to see him in 48 hours. Is this normal? I just feel like they might be trying to get more money out of me because I think the next appt is just "report findings and treatment plan". I have seen an osteo years ago who says my problem is mainly postural so Im struggling to see how xrays are really needed? Any advice? What should I do? |

This is a normal process.
Would you do chiropractic adjustments on a new patient without knowing the condition of their spine? Also, it can show the degradation of any vertebrae, the misalignment of your hips and so much more that I just don't have the knowledge to explain. The xray will provide your chiropractor with lots of information on which areas need the most attention. |

I have for many many years.
I had severe migraines. C2 was massively out. I used Chiro in conjunction with acupuncture. The Chiro to manipulate the bone back into place, the acupuncture to gently release the muscle. My three DD's also see the Chiro. |

This is a normal process. for some. The best chiros I've ever had never required x-rays. I will say though that when I put off getting an adjustment that I often need a follow up within a week to make sure the adjustment has held. Often the muscles are so tense from being in the wrong place they will pull the joints back out. |

Myself and my two kids DD1 10yrs and DS 5yrs go to a chiropractor.
DD has back trouble from all her acro and swimming activities. we usually have to go about 5 times then she is ok for a while again. DD is going as his body is twisted and he has one leg slightly short then the other. He has only just started treating DS. We have had one treatment and are now going for x rays then back again. They are defiantly worth it, Good luck. |
