Cereal that IS two years old, not FOR two year olds Tounge1.gif

It's a full, sealed box. 2 years past the best before date. Will it be stale, or poisonous? Seems a pity to waste it! WWYD?

Depends what sort of cereal it is. If it were something totally yucky like Saltana Bran, I'd most definitely chuck it. happy.gif

I'd most likely give it a sniff and if it's not rancid smelling then give it a taste. If that was fine too then I'd eat it or use it in baking.

I probably would give it a try at least, or depending on the type of cereal use it for cooking (weetbix slice or just right loaf for example).

If it was not stale, and kept dry (so any dried fruit is still dry) and free from bugs, I sure would. Just like I would eat 2 year old rice or pasta. It is a best before, not a use by date...

And I love my sultana Bran. It is a staple in our house.

If it's a dry cereal (no fruit/fillings etc) like weetbix or rice bubbles - then probably.

I'd taste a little bit first, and if it tastes off or stale or nasty I'd toss it. Otherwise, I'd probably use it.
