Help! DH loves Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure and wants to name our son William Theodore. Hopefully most people won't cotton on to where it's from and most people don't really use their middle names anyway. I'm not sure how I feel about William in the first place but he shoots down every other name I've come up with, except for Ziggy, but that might be too out there for me to be able to say with a straight face.

So, is William Theodore THAT bad?

I think Theodore is too good for a middle name. I'd go Theodore William personally.

I like cats, but I couldn't eat a whole one.
I love it in either combination and think most people won't realise where it comes from.

William Theodore is fine IMO. I didn't twig at all and the flow is perfect. Not keen on NN Bill myself. Will is cool and maybe Billy at a pinch, or Teddy.

You might consider Willem or Gwylim as an alternative for the FN.

Ziggy is very cool but not as the full name. Great as NN to Sigfrid, Sigmar, Sigmund, Sigvard.

It would never have occurred to me. Both William and Theodore seem like they could be family names to me, so I'm guessing most people wouldn't make any connection with the movie.

Unless you start calling out "Bill 'n' Ted, have you finished your adventure?" in the playground original.gif

I saw this in recent topics and thought "most excellent!" and may have done a little air guitar... So um yeah, I thought Bill and Ted blush.gif

Wouldn't put me off though as long as you like the names. A friend of DH's recently had triplets - Bill, Ted and well, the other one; I do feel sorry for the one who doesn't get to go on the excellent adventure!
